Method
- Preheat oven to 177°C (350°F).
- Heat beef for 20-25 minutes, until internal temperature of 60°C (140°C).
- In large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onions. Sauté for 5-8 minutes or until onions are browned.
- Combine BBQ sauce, maple syrup, seasoning, and mayonnaise. Stir to mix thoroughly.
- Spread 10 ml (1 tsp) sauce on each side of Kaiser bun.
- On bottom half of bun, place 60 g (2 oz) beef and 60 ml (1/4 cup) each onion, cheddar cheese, and lettuce. Top with lid of bun. Serve immediately.
Suggested Accompaniments
Garnish with sliced tomato.
Serve with 125 ml (1/2 cup) macaroni salad.
